Balrampur is a city in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh .
Balrampur is located in the North Indian Plain, 140 km east-northeast of Lucknow . 3 km east of the city, the Western Rapti flows southeast. The city is the administrative seat of the district of the same name .
The national highway NH 730 connects Balrampur with Bahraich and Basti . A train connection leads from Gonda to Balrampur.
As a city, Balrampur has the status of Nagar Palika Parishad . The city is divided into 28 wards . At the 2011 census, Balrampur had 81,054 inhabitants.
