Balthasar Timaeus von Güldenklee

Balthasar Timaeus von Güldenklee (* 1600 in Fraustadt ; † May 3, 1667 in Kolberg ) was a German doctor and mayor of Kolberg.

He was born as the son of Pastor Johannes Timaeus in Fraustadt , which at that time was one of the strongholds of Protestantism in the Kingdom of Poland. He studied medicine at the University of Wittenberg , where he especially heard from Daniel Sennert . He made a trip to Italy.

During the Thirty Years' War in 1638 he succeeded in healing a large part of the Swedish army from the plague near Triebsees . He was temporarily the personal physician of the Elector Friedrich Wilhelm von Brandenburg, from 1648 personal physician of the Queen widow Maria Eleonora of Sweden.

Timaeus practiced in Kolberg . In 1630, when he was councilor in Kolberg, he and his father-in-law Evert Kundenreich acquired the Naugard estate from the city of Kolberg . He later acquired other goods. In 1661 he became the mayor of Kolberg and held this office until his death.

In 1651 he and his brother were raised to the nobility by the emperor under the name Timaeus von Güldenklee . This was confirmed in Brandenburg-Prussia in 1665.

Balthasar Timaeus von Güldenklee has published numerous medical writings.
