The Baltussee is a quarry pond in the two East Westphalian cities Minden and Porta Westfalica in North Rhine-Westphalia . The artificial lake created by gravel is 33 hectares in size and 9 meters deep. It is located on the western bank of the Weser opposite the village of Neesen in the corner of the B 65 and B 61 federal highways . The municipal boundary runs through the lake: the northern part of the lake is in the Minden district, the southern in the Barkhausen district (Porta Westfalica).

Up until the 1980s, gravel was mined here and loaded onto Weser ships.

In May 2010, the 150,000 cubic meter excavation from the new construction of the north bypass of the A30 from the Eidinghauser Strasse area of the city of Bad Oeynhausen was tipped here.
