Ban Phe ( Thai บ้าน เพ ) is a small town ( Thesaban Tambon ) in the district ( Amphoe ) Mueang Rayong . The small port town is located on the Gulf of Thailand about 20 km east of the city of Rayong in Rayong Province .

Ban Phe has been a small town since 1999 with its own local authority. Ban Phe consists of 23 parishes and 7 villages. In Ban Phe there is a kindergarten, 3 elementary schools and a secondary school. City councilor is Mr. Phairat Arunwetsaset ( นาย ไพ รัตน์ อรุณ เวสสะ เศรษฐ ).

The people here live mainly from fishing, trading and working in one of the eight fish processing factories. Tourism has been gaining in importance over the last few years and an increasing number of foreigners have settled here.

Ban Phe is the main starting point for trips to Ko Samet Island . Dried fish, dried crabs and the crab paste and fish sauce that are particularly popular here are sold along the promenade . Ban Phe Beach is 8 kilometers long.

The nearby Suan Son Park is a popular destination, where you can picnic in shady corners. The Rayong Aquarium is located on the outskirts of Ban Phe.
