The Banca Privata Edmond de Rothschild Lugano SA is the asset management specialist Swiss private bank based in Lugano . It emerged in 1991 from the merger of “Banca Solari & Blum SA” and “Banca Privata Edmond de Rothschild SA” and has since been a subsidiary of the Geneva-based Banque Privée Edmond de Rothschild SA .
Banca Privata Edmond de Rothschild Lugano employs around 80 people and at the end of 2008 had total assets of 509.3 million francs and just under 5 billion francs in customer assets.

The company was founded in 1926 as a finance company under the name “Società Commerciale Ceresio SA”. In 1933 it was renamed "SA Privata Finanziara", specializing in asset management and securities trading. After the company received its banking license in 1936 , it was renamed “Banca Solari SA” two years later. After Walter Blum joined the company in 1964, the institute, which had been run by the Solari family until then, appeared in 1967 as "Banca Solari & Blum SA".
In 1991 “Banca Solari & Blum SA” merged with “Banca Privata Edmond de Rothschild SA”, also based in Lugano. At the same time, the bank was renamed “Banca Privata Solari & Blum SA (Gruppo Benjamin e Edmond de Rothschild)”.
The "Banca Privata Edmond de Rothschild SA" for its part was established in 1968 as the Lugano branch of the Geneva-based "Banque Privée SA". In 1972 the branch was converted into the joint stock company “Banca Privata in Lugano SA” and in 1986 renamed “Banca Privata Edmond de Rothschild SA”.
The "Banca Privata Solari & Blum SA (Gruppo Benjamin e Edmond de Rothschild)", which was created in 1991 from the merger of the two banks, was renamed in 1998 to "Banca Privata Edmond de Rothschild Lugano SA".
In 2013 Sella Bank AG was taken over by merger .
