The Bancroft Bay is a bay on the Danco Coast of Graham lands north of the Antarctic Peninsula . It is located east of Charlotte Bay on the west side of the Reclus Peninsula and is a side bay of Wilhelmina Bay .
Participants in the Belgica expedition (1897–1899) of the Belgian polar explorer Adrien de Gerlache de Gomery carried out an initial mapping of the bay . A new mapping was carried out by the Falklands Islands Dependencies Survey based on aerial photographs of the Falkland Islands and Dependencies Aerial Survey Expedition (1955–1957). The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it after Anthony David Bancroft (* 1927), head geodesist on the latter expedition.
