The Reclus Peninsula is an approximately 11 km long peninsula on the Danco coast of Graham Land on the Antarctic Peninsula . It forms the north-eastern boundary of Wilhelmina Bay and separates it as well as Bancroft Bay from Charlotte Bay .
It was discovered during the Belgica expedition (1897-1899) led by the Belgian polar explorer Adrien de Gerlache de Gomery , who named the northern end as Cap Reclus after the French geographer Élisée Reclus (1830-1905). The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee transferred the name to the entire peninsula in 1960.
