history

The village of Banzendorf is mentioned for the first time in 1365. The name at that time was "casa Banzendorp". Around 1490 Banzendorf belonged to the Ruppin rule of the Counts of Lindow-Ruppin, which was essentially imperial . Before 1541, Banzendorf belonged to the Lindow Monastery . From 1541 to 1764 Banzendorf belonged to the office of Lindow (Mark) , from 1764 to 1872 to the office of Alt Ruppin. From 1992 the community belonged to the office Lindow (Mark) until 2003 it became a district of Lindow (Mark).

In the Thirty Years' War there was great damage in Banzendorf, so in 1652 13 of 25 farms were desolate . In 1665 a large part of the place burned down. There was strong growth in the 19th century. If there were 242 inhabitants in 1805, their number rose to 318 by 1840. In 1858 there were already 405 inhabitants in the village. In 1953 the LPG type I was founded, in 1960 there was also an LPG type III.

Village church

There are two architectural monuments in Banzendorf , the Banzendorf village church and the Degebrodt grave in the cemetery.

Village church

Village church: The village church was probably built in 1640, the year is on the weather vane. The church replaced a previous building, but nothing is known about it. It is a hall church with a gable roof. The 17th century tower was demolished in 1971. Inside there is a pulpit altar from 1718. The organ was built by Albert Hollenbach in 1889 , there are sources that state that Lütkemüller was the organ builder.

Degebrodt grave: The grave was created after 1912. It is located east of the church in the churchyard. There is an Art Nouveau iron grille around the tomb . There are three memorial plaques for Wilhelm, Friedrich and Fridericke Degebrodt opposite the entrance gate. The Degebrodt belonged to the wealthy landowners in Banzendorf.
