Barbara Gailling
Barbara Gailling (born January 9, 1931 in the German Reich ) is a German costume designer .
Live and act
Barbara Gailling had studied art history for two semesters and completed an apprenticeship as a tailor for practical training. She received her training as a costume designer from the Munich couturier Horst Klöss , who specializes in extravagant fashion, and at the time also director of the master school for fashion based in the Bavarian capital.
In 1971 the costume designer , who was married to the Munich-based film architect Hans Gailling , joined the film and television industry. In the following years Barbara Gailling did not design too many suits and gowns in quantitative terms, but instead concentrated on selected projects such as the “alternative” Heimatfilm Sternsteinhof by Hans W. Geißendörfer , Hans-Jürgen Syberberg's voluminous Hitler film Hitler, a film from Germany and Percy Adlon's memoirs of Marcel Proust's housekeeper , Céleste . In all three projects, she worked closely with her husband, who was responsible for the equipment and film construction.
In later years, Barbara Gailling was mainly responsible for series goods, including a number of Tatort thrillers, various comedy episodes around the fictional characters Herbert and Schnipsi , the youth series The Strange Adventures of Herman van Veen with the Dutchman Herman van Veen and the lawyers Series cafe perjury . In 1997 Barbara Gailling retired from costume design.
