Barbara Huemer (* 1971 ) is an Austrian politician ( Greens ). Since 2015 she has been a member of the Vienna State Parliament and a member of the Vienna City Council .

Life

Barbara Huemer grew up in Upper Austria and attended the Bundesrealgymnasium in Kirchdorf an der Krems . Since 1990 she has lived in Vienna , where she attended the University studied sociology, philosophy and political science, the study she joined in 1998 as Magistra with a thesis on the representation of the parent-child relationships in Erich Hackl's stories from.

From 2001 she was an advisor for women, labor market, health and personnel in the City Hall Club of the Vienna Green Party . On November 24, 2015 she was sworn in as a member of the Vienna State Parliament and City Council in the 20th electoral term , where she acts as the deputy chairwoman of the City Council Committee for Culture, Science and Sport.
