Barbara Inkpen

Barbara Inkpen ( Barbara Jean Inkpen, married Lawton; born October 28, 1949 in Farnham , Surrey ) is a former British high jumper .

In 1968 she was eighth at the European Indoor Games in Milan and 13th at the Olympic Games in Mexico City .

At the European Athletics Championships she was eighth in Athens in 1969 and won bronze in Helsinki in 1971 .

In 1972 she finished fourth at the Olympic Games in Munich .

Two years later, starting for England , she won the British Commonwealth Games in Christchurch in 1974 and came 14th at the European Championships in Rome .

In the high jump she was English champion in 1969 and in 1969, 1970 and 1973 English indoor champion; in the long jump she was English indoor champion in 1967.
