Barbara Kelly (born October 5, 1924 in Vancouver , British Columbia , † January 14, 2007 in Hampstead , London ) was a Canadian - British actress .

Life

Barbara Kelly's mother was a Canadian stage actress. In 1942 Barbara married the actor and radio announcer Bernard Braden . The couple had two children, Kim and Christopher Braden , who both became actors. In the following years, Barbara Kelly also worked a lot for the radio and toured the country as an actress. In 1949 the couple went to Great Britain.

There she made her first career steps on her husband's show, Bedtime with Braden , before they both produced an equal show in 1951, An Evening at Home with Bernard Braden and Barbara Kelly . The collaboration with her husband, which culminated in the 1968 sitcom B-And-B , in which their daughter Kim also played, continued into the future. She was best known as a member of the advice team for What's My Line , the British version of What am I? .

In addition, a small film career started in the 1950s. She played her first role in Der Wüstenfalke ( The Desert Hawk , 1950). In Love in Pawn , she played one of the two main roles alongside her husband. After only a few films, however, her career ended again in 1959. Now and then she still appeared as a guest star in television series such as Magnum .
