Andreas Allescher

Andreas Allescher (born June 6, 1828 in Munich , † April 10, 1903 in Munich) was a Bavarian , German mycologist . Its official botanical author's abbreviation is “ Allesch. ".

Live and act

Allescher received his teacher training in Freising . Stations of his professional career as a teacher were Haag an der Amper , Munich and Berchtesgaden-Engedey , before he returned to Munich from 1862 until his retirement.

In addition to his main job, he was a well-known mushroom expert who also dealt in particular with the group of rust fungi . In addition to mushrooms, he also collected algae , lichen and moss . In the cryptogam flora of Germany published by Gottlob Ludwig Rabenhorst , Allescher edited essential sections relating to fungi.
