Barbara Lison

Barbara Lison (born October 2, 1956 in Zbrosławice , Poland ) is a German librarian, chief library director of the Bremen City Library and internationally active library association activist.

biography

education and profession

Lison studied Slavic Studies , History and Education at the Ruhr University in Bochum . After completing her studies, she taught Russian for a short time in Düsseldorf. This was followed by a traineeship in Düsseldorf and a library traineeship in Bochum, Oldenburg and Cologne and work as a librarian . For five years from 1987 to 1992 she headed the city library in Oldenburg. In 1992 she became director of the Bremen City Library, and since 1999 she has been the manager of the Bremen City Library's own operations.
