Barbara Rosen

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Barbara Rosen (* 1949 in Pfullingen ; † May 23, 1986 in Reutlingen , actually Gisela Spirig, née Schaich) was a German singer from the field of folk music .

Life

Barbara Rosen already had a record deal with DECCA as a 12-year-old . Here she sang her first track on record under the stage name Gissy Jung in 1961 : Is it really true, Mama? , it followed in 1962 That still has time and that will be nice! In 1965 she switched to Polydor and sang the hit Daddy under her second stage name Barbara Rosen (B-side: How was it with you, Mama? ). Since she was unsuccessful with these hits and this type of music wasn't really her thing, luckily the coincidence that she found out that Ernst Mosch was looking for a singer within the industry helped her . His duets with Franz Bummerl were no longer up-to-date, and his great competitor Slavko Avsenik had already switched his arrangements to (two) singers. Gisela Schaich sang in 1971 and was signed by Ernst Mosch as a singer; she kept her stage name Barbara Rosen. Due to her outstanding talent for precise phrasing , empathy for the second voice and her appealing appearance, she quickly became popular with the audience and, next to Mosch, a kind of trademark for the performances of the original Egerland musicians . Barbara Rosen sang most of the tracks with Ernst Mosch in a duet, but also with Norman Sanders on various recordings by the Egerland musicians; she sang two songs alone. Barbara Rosen died of a brain tumor at the age of only 36 and was buried in a family grave at the Pfullingen cemetery . Helga Reichel followed her in 1986 as a singer with Mosch.
