Barbara Supp

Barbara Supp (* 1958 in Stuttgart ) is a German journalist .

Life

Supp studied American and Romance studies in Tübingen to become a teacher. From 1987 she attended the Hamburg School of Journalism (now the Henri Nannen School ). She has been working for Der Spiegel since 1989 , first as an editor in the Modernes Leben department and in the Germany department, from 1997 as a reporter and since 2005 as the deputy department head for "Society and Reports".

In 1995, Supp received the Egon Erwin Kisch Prize for the work Mr. Bui would like to stay in the Spiegel , in which she wrote about xenophobia and right-wing radicalism in Germany. In 1999 she was a member of the pre-jury for the same prize.

Supp writes at Spiegel about education, media, justice and society, among other things. She lives and works in Hamburg .
