Barbara Westmark-Böckenholt

Barbara Westmark-Böckenholt (born September 9, 1958 in Herzebrock , † June 15, 1996 in Münster ) was a German journalist and TV presenter for West German Broadcasting .

Life

Barbara Westmark-Böckenholt was born as Barbara Westmark in the Herzebrock Hospital as the first of five children. Father Alfons Westmark was a teacher. Her mother, Hildegard Westmark (née Esser), was a kindergarten teacher.

From 1968 to 1977 she attended the Marienschule grammar school in Lippstadt . After studying at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster, she married the family entrepreneur Rudolf Böckenholt. The marriage had two children.

In 1996 she died of cancer after a long illness.

Professional background

After graduating from high school, she studied journalism , economics and German at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster . During her studies she worked as a freelance journalist for the Münstersche Zeitung before she switched to WDR television in Münster as a freelance editor . There she first moderated the local time Münsterland , later the current hour and “Sport im Westen”.
