Barbara Wiltsche
Barbara Wiltsche (* around 1965) is a former Austrian table tennis player . She was one of the best players in Austria in the 1980s.
Career
Barbara Wiltsche comes from Judenburg , where she began her career with the ATUS Judenburg association. She achieved her first successes at the Austrian youth championships when she won the mixed title with Harald Koller in 1978 . In 1983 she reached the final in singles, in doubles with Elisabeth Maier and in mixed with Peter Eckel she was Austrian youth champion.
In 1981 she won the Austrian singles championship for the first time among adults . She defended this title from 1982 to 1984. In 1985 she was no longer eligible to play for the national championships because of her involvement in Germany, but in 1993 she won the title again. There are also several front placements:
- 1978: 2nd place in mixed with Erich Amplatz
- 1979: 2nd place in doubles with Carmen Traunig, victory in mixed with Erich Amplatz
- 1981: Victory in doubles with Dolores Fetter , 2nd place in mixed with Peter Eckel
- 1982: Victory in doubles with Dolores Fetter, 2nd place in mixed with Peter Eckel
- 1984: 2nd place in mixed with Peter Eckel
- 1988: Victory in doubles with Vera Kottek , 2nd place in mixed with Peter Eckel
- 1991: Victory in doubles with Vera Kottek
- 1992: Victory in doubles with Karin Albustin
- 1993: 2nd place in doubles with Karin Albustin
From 1981 to 1983 Barbara Wiltsche achieved first place in the national ranking tournament.
Between 1978 and 1988 she took part in three world championships and six times in European championships . It never came close to medal ranks. In 1985 she was ranked 77th in the ITTF world rankings .
In 1984 Barbara Wiltsche moved to the German Bundesliga for VSC Donauwörth . In 1989 she joined the Austrian association SPG Korneuburg, where she ended her active career in 1996.
