Bard on the Beach

Bard on the Beach ( Bard on the beach ) is the largest theater festival in Western Canada . It has been held every summer in Vancouver since 1990 . A professional, not-for-profit theater company with over 30 actors stages three or four plays by William Shakespeare each season, which runs from late May to late September . Games are played on two outdoor stages, the main stage with 520 seats and the Douglas Campbell Studio Stage with 240 seats. These are located in the Kitsilano district in Vanier Park. In 2006 over 80,000 spectators were counted.
