Bardufoss
Bardufoss is an urban center in the municipality of Målselv in the province of Troms og Finnmark in northern Norway . It is located about 80 km north of Narvik and 70 km south of Tromsø immediately west of the confluence of the Barduelva in the Målselva . To the west of Bardufoss lies the Andsvatnet lake , and to the north is the Andsfjell mountain. The European route 6 runs through Bardufoss.
The place
Administratively, Bardufoss is one of four statistical districts in the municipality of Målselv, with about 2500 inhabitants and a total area of 56.36 km². It consists of the three villages Andselv , Andslimoen and Heggelia , the settlements Finnsund, Fossmoen and Rusta and the airport Bardufoss in the center. Heggelia is located on the Barduelva immediately southwest, Andselv is located immediately northwest of the airfield and Andslimoen is located on the Målselva about 4 km further north. Finnsund is south of Heggelia, Fossmoen southeast of the airfield, and Rusta between Heggelia and the airfield.
