Barfold is 104 kilometers northwest of Melbourne on the road from Kyneton to Heathcote in the Australian state of Victoria .

The site has a community hall, Barfold Hall , and an Anglican church, Barfold Union Church . The Barfold Post Office opened some distance from what is now the center of the village in the south of the village on November 1, 1861. This was renamed Langley in 1867 when a new post office that had opened a few months earlier was renamed by Emberton in Barfold. Barfold's post office closed in 1957, and Langley's in 1970.

Surroundings

The Barfold Gorge is geologically significant , a four kilometer long gorge with a depth of 80 meters, two waterfalls, basalt columns and lava quarries . Cattle, olive and wine growing are practiced around the place.

Personalities

Barfold was the birthplace of William Watt , the Prime Minister of Victoria from 1912 to 1913.
