Barilla (* 2001), nicknamed Baba , is a retired Tinker - mare , with Belgian rider Barbara Minneci in Para-Equestrian was successful.

Minneci bought the young check mare at the age of 3, although the rider was originally looking for an older therapy horse . Paralyzed on the left side and with no muscle strength on the right side, she wanted to start riding again. She had no tournament ambitions. Barilla is not very large, in character as reliable and well adapted to their rider in a wheelchair alone supplies can be. The mare lets the wheelchair user lead her on a rope, scrape out her hooves, groom her back and saddle her up. The rider pulls herself into the saddle with the help of a climbing harness and a rope pull. Barilla is trained for the side saddle and is mainly guided with weight aids. The missing leg supports are replaced by two whips . Her trainer is the Belgian para-dressage rider Michèle George , who has participated in several Paralympic games.

With Minneci in the saddle, Barilla took part in grade II at the Summer Paralympics 2012 in London . In the individual dressage she finished 8th. They achieved 6th place in the freestyle.

The couple also took part in the 2016 Summer Paralympics , finishing 12th in Rio. In 2017 Barilla was retired from the big sport.
