The Barnaby River is a right tributary of the Southwest Miramichi River in the Canadian province of New Brunswick .
River course
The Barnaby River rises 7 km southwest of Rogersville at an altitude of 90 m . It initially flows 30 km in a predominantly north-northeast direction. It flows west past Rogersville. For the lower 20 kilometers, the Barnaby River turns towards west northwest. It finally flows into the Southwest Miramichi River, 7 km above its confluence with the Northwest Miramichi River . The course of the river is located in southeast Northumberland County . The Barnaby River catchment area is mainly forested.
Hydrology
The river drains an area of 490 km². The mean discharge at the gauge 3 km above the mouth is 9.7 m³ / s. In April and May the river carries the largest amount of water with an average of 37 and 20.6 m³ / s. The mouth of the Barnaby River is influenced by the tidal currents.
