The Barnhill Tollhouse is a former customs house in the Scottish city of Perth in the Council Area Perth and Kinross . In 1965 the building was included in the Scottish monument lists in the highest monument category A.

history

The customs house was built in the early 19th century. It is possible that Lord Gray , who had the nearby manor house Kinfauns Castle built around this time, initiated the construction. Historically located on the road to Dundee , today's A85 , the Barnhill Tollhouse marked the city limits of Perth when coming from the southeast. In 2004 the building was inscribed on the register of endangered buildings in Scotland. The condition of the vacant Barnhill Tollhouse is classified as very poor and at the same time high risk.
