Baron Howard of Glossop

Baron Howard , of Glossop in the County of Derby , is a hereditary British title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom .

Awarding and other titles

The title was bestowed on December 9, 1869, the Liberal MP Edward Fitzalan-Howard . He was the second son of Henry Fitzalan-Howard, 13th Duke of Norfolk from the aristocratic Howard family . His great-grandson, the 4th Baron , inherited the title of Baron Beaumont from his mother Mona Stapleton, 11th Baroness Beaumont in 1971 . In 1975 he also inherited the title Duke of Norfolk along with subordinate titles from his third uncle, Bernard Fitzalan-Howard, 16th Duke of Norfolk . The baronies Howard of Glossop and Beaumont has since been a subordinate title of the Dukedom.

Estimated heir ( Heir apparent ) is the eldest son of the current title holder, Henry Fitzalan-Howard, Earl of Arundel (* 1987).
