The Barrie Speedway is a motorsport racetrack opened in 1965 in Barrie, Ontario , Canada . When it opened, it was the first paved oval north of Toronto . The route was originally a 0.25-mile oval and the rest of the route configuration was comparable to the Martinsville Speedway at that time .
