First route variant (2005-2010)
From 2005 to 2010, a 3.175 km route variant was used at Edmonton City Center Airport. The track was driven clockwise and had 14 corners. The course record in the race was set on this variant at the Champ Car race 2007 by Sébastien Bourdais and amounts to 58.653 s.
Second route variant (from 2011)
Since the first route variant offered few opportunities to overtake, it was decided to use a new route variant for the 2011 season. The new variant has 13 curves, is 3.631 km long and, in contrast to the first variant, is driven counter-clockwise. This variant uses the disused eastern runway.
