The Circuit Trois-Rivières is a temporary motorsport race track in Trois-Rivières (Quebec) , Canada , around 130 kilometers north of Montreal . The racetrack consists of public roads and is therefore comparable to the Formula 1 racetrack in Monaco .
The first race took place in 1968, at that time still on a 2.09 kilometer road circuit. From 1973 to 1976 a 2.41 kilometer road course was used and from 1977 to 1985 the route was 3.38 kilometers long. Races have been held on the current 2.57-kilometer circuit since 1989.
American Le Mans Series and Champ Car Atlantic Series races were held on the track. The most important races still taking place today are the championship run of the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series , which was won by Kerry Micks in 2007 , and a championship run of the Grand-Am series.
