history

Barrier Air was founded in 1983 as Great Barrier Airlines . As it only operates domestic flights, the New Zealand Aviation Authority has issued the code GBA and the callsign Great Barrier , but these have not been registered with the ICAO . Both terms may therefore only be used within New Zealand.

Destinations

Barrier Air serves Auckland destinations on New Zealand's North Island, particularly Great Barrier Island .
