Barrington is a Canadian region ( English municipal district ) in the western part of Shelburne County , Nova Scotia .
It is the southernmost part of the province and also includes Cape Sable, the border between the Gulf of Maine and the North Atlantic .
According to the 2011 census, Barrington has 6,994 residents.
