Barry Hollowell

Barry Craig Bates Hollowell (born April 14, 1948 in Boston , Massachusetts , † August 17, 2016 in Calgary ) was a Canadian Anglican clergyman and theologian .

Life

Hollowell studied Anglican theology at Valparaiso University . In 1974 he was ordained an Anglican priest. Hollowell was the successor to John Barry Curtis from 1999 to 2005 Anglican Bishop of Calgary . He was followed by Derek Balfour Erskine Hoskin as bishop for the Anglican diocese of Calgary . In 2008, Hollowell came out as gay.
