Barthold Holtzfus
Barthold Holtzfus (born December 11, 1659 in Rügenwalde in Western Pomerania ; † 1717 ), often referred to in literature as Holzfuß , was a German Reformed theologian , philosopher and university professor .
Holtzfus was appointed associate professor of philosophy at the University of Frankfurt an der Oder in 1685, after having obtained a master's degree in 1684 . From 1686 he worked as a Reformed court preacher in Stolp . In 1695 he became a full professor of physics ( Professor Physices Ordinarius ) and extraordinary professor of theology ( Professor Theologia extraordinarius ) at the University of Frankfurt an der Oder . In 1698 he received his doctorate in theology. Under the name Holtzfus he published numerous treatises on theological and philosophical subjects.
