Ernst Witte

Ernst Christian Witte (born July 6, 1829 in Stettin ; † July 18, 1910 in Düsseldorf ) was a lawyer and member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Witte attended high school in Stettin and the Putbus pedagogy . He studied law at the universities of Heidelberg , Bonn , Berlin and made trips to France, Italy, Egypt, Syria, Greece and Turkey. During his studies in 1849 he became a member of the Frankonia fraternity in Bonn . From 1855 he was assessor and assistant judge at the appeals court and then district judge in Stettin. From 1861 he was city judge in Berlin and from 1874 to 1889 appellant judge in Breslau . After that he was regional court director for three years and from 1892 to 1903 regional court president. Witte was a member of the board of directors of the Berlin-Stettiner Eisenbahn and a member of the Provincial Bank Committee for Silesia for fifteen years.

From 1877 to 1879 he was a member of the Prussian House of Representatives and from 1877 to 1881 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency district of Breslau 9 ( Striegau , Schweidnitz ) and the National Liberal Party .
