The Bartol Kašić is a ferry operated by the Croatian shipping company Jadrolinija , which entered service in 1989 as Vuk Karadzic . It has been in use since March 2013 on the route from Split via Vela Luka to Ubli .

history

The Vuk Karadzic was built under the hull number 482 at Titivo Brodogradiliste in Kraljevica and was launched on January 27, 1989. After the takeover by Jadrolinija in July 1989, it was put into service on the route from Dubrovnik to Mljet .

After Jadrolinija was taken over by the Croatian government in 1991, the Vuk Karadzic changed its name to Bartol Kašić . In the following years the ship changed its route several times.

On August 16, 2006, the Bartol Kašić collided with a quay wall in Split, damaging the ship and injuring 18 people. After several other route changes, the ship has been in service since March 2013 on the route from Split via Vela Luka to Ubli. Occasionally, the Bartol Ka only runs between Vela Lika and Ubli when the traffic is high, while the part of the route from Split to Vela Luka is taken over by the fleet sister Korčula .
