Bartolomeo Vitturi

Bartolomeo Vitturi (* around 1710 ?; † after 1753 ) was an Italian librettist .

Life

Little is known about Vitturi's life. Between 1731 and 1753 he wrote 17 libretti for Venetian opera houses . a. were set to music by Albinoni and Galuppi .

style

With two exceptions, Vitturi's libretti belong to the genre of opera seria . They are mostly worked strictly according to the principles of the Arcadian reform and prefer to treat antique fabrics, often from Persia or the Middle East .
