The Baseball European Championship 2016 was the 34th  European championship in baseball . It was held from September 9 to 18, 2016 in Hoofddorp , the Netherlands .

A total of twelve teams took part in this tournament. In the group stage, which was played from September 9th to 13th, there were two groups of six teams each. The final round began on September 14th with the game for seventh place. From September 15, the relegation and final rounds were played. The tournament ended on September 18, 2016 with the final of the two best teams in the main round.

Winner of the EM 2014 and thus the defending champion was the host and record holder of the Netherlands.

Attendees

12 teams were qualified for the tournament. On the one hand the ten best placed at the EM 2014 and on the other hand the winners of the two "B" pool qualification tournaments. The following teams were qualified and divided into groups A and B as shown:
