Basil Radford

Basil Radford (born June 25, 1897 in Chester , Cheshire , England , † October 20, 1952 in London , England) was a British actor .

Live and act

Radford was a participant in the war from 1915 to 1918 and became an actor after his release. In 1924 he came to London, from where guest performances and tours took him to Australia and New Zealand (1927/28), San Francisco and Los Angeles (1929) and Vancouver (1931).

Radford made his film debut while in Los Angeles. He became known in various films of the 1930s and 1940s as a typical British gentleman . Even Alfred Hitchcock put him repeated this type of role accordingly, such as train Santander in The Lady Vanishes , along with his frequent partner Naunton Wayne . "The two were a popular team that complemented each other perfectly."

Radford died of a heart attack in 1952 at the age of only 55 .
