Naunton Wayne

Naunton Wayne (born June 22, 1901 in Llanwonno , Glamorganshire , Wales , † November 17, 1970 in Tolworth , Surrey , England ) was a British actor .

Live and act

Wayne began his stage career in 1920, focusing on music halls , revue and vaudeville . In 1930 he first appeared with the Chelsea Follies, in 1933 he was a partner of Josephine Baker in London .

First heard on the radio in 1927, his film career began with the dawn of the sound film age. He is best known for his regular film partnership with Basil Radford since Alfred Hitchcock's A Lady Disappears , where the two do not lose their composure during the shelling of their train. Since then, the duo has cultivated the cliché of the unshakable British gentleman in various films , who does not let anything disturb himself and who only gets angry about bad manners or being late at cricket .
