The Bass River is an approximately 43 km long tributary of the Chaleur Bay in the west of the Gulf of St. Lawrence in the Canadian province of New Brunswick .
River course
The Bass River forms the outlet of the 144 m high Bass River Lake , 25 km south of the city of Bathurst . The Bass River flows north to the sea. He has numerous river loops . The river crosses the far east of the city of Bathurst and reaches a narrow estuary , which is separated from the open sea by an elongated spit . The Bathurst Harbor lies to the west.
Hydrology
The Bass River drains an area of 175 km². The mean discharge at the gauge 3.5 km above the mouth is 3.16 m³ / s. In April and May the river carries the largest amount of water, averaging 11.5 and 9.67 m³ / s.
