Bastian Heidenfelder (born January 8, 1986 in Ansbach ) is a former German soccer player and today's sports official.

Career

In his youth, Bastian Heidenfelder played in his home in Central Franconia for TV Leutershausen , SpVgg Ansbach 09 and 1. FC Nürnberg and then went to TSV 1860 Munich . With the B-Juniors of the 60s he reached the semifinals of the German championship. Heidenfelder also played three junior internationals.

Immediately after his youth, the striker moved to the Bayern League for FC Ismaning and a year later in the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg for TSV Crailsheim . There he played a successful season with 12 goals this season in 29 games. In the 2007/08 season he again contributed 10 goals to the team result, but the club missed the qualification for the new regional league and stayed in the league, which was only fifth after the league reform.

He played another six months in Crailsheim, then 1. FC Heidenheim brought him to the Regionalliga Süd during the winter break . The FCH wanted to tackle promotion and with seven goals in the remaining 17 games, Heidenfelder contributed to the championship and thus to promotion to the 3rd division . He made his professional debut on July 25, 2009, when he was on the starting line-up in the 2-2 draw against Wuppertaler SV Borussia on the first day of the 2009/10 season. With eight goals in 33 games, he played a successful first professional season. The following year, however, he suffered an adductor tear that cost him the entire first half of the season, and he needed the second half to slowly get back to the team. In the 2011/12 season he was back in the starting eleven, but he was often substituted prematurely in 29 missions and remained far behind his previous performances with only four goals this season.

For the 2014/15 season he joined the Association League promoted TSV Essingen . On January 1, 2016, Bastian Heidenfelder took over the newly created position as sporting assistant to managing director Holger Sanwald at the second division club 1. FC Heidenheim . On January 1, 2017, he took over the newly created position of sporting director at FC Heidenheim, making him the youngest sporting director in German professional football.
