Bastian Schuchardt

Bastian Schuchardt (* 1957 ) is a German biologist, scientist and, together with Jörg Scholle, owner of the company Bioconsult in Bremen . He is a board member of the EUCC - The Coastal Union Germany eV

Life

Bastian Schuchardt worked for four years as a research assistant at the University of Bremen , in 1990 he wrote his dissertation on the topic of the importance of physical processes for the dynamics of organic Seston components in the inner Weser estuary , and then five years as a project manager in the landscape planning office "Green Planning Group" employed in Bremen. In 1996 he co-founded the environmental planning agency BIOCONSULT Schuchardt & Scholle GbR .

Schuchardt works in the field of environmental planning (expert reports, environmental impact and FFH studies, accompanying landscape conservation plans, implementation of the EU Water Framework Directive ), especially in the river, estuary and coastal area ( offshore wind farms , cables and pipelines, dyke construction , renaturation measures , water development, Water pollution, relocation of dredged material, cooling water withdrawal). In addition, he also prepared reports in the terrestrial area (road construction, sewage treatment plants, landfills.).

He dealt with applied and problem-oriented environmental research , especially in aquatic ecosystems (especially in the estuary and coastal areas, integrated coastal zone management (ICZM), marine strategy guidelines (MSFD), ecosystem approach, climate impact research). Since 2006 he has been a board member of the “EUCC - The Coastal Union Germany eV”. He is also the spokesman for the “Climate Impact Research Division” of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research .
