The Bastien Range is a mountain range of moderate height in the west Antarctic Ellsworthland . It extends over a length of 65 km in a northwest-southeast orientation in the Ellsworth Mountains and flanks the southwest side of the Nimitz Glacier and the Sentinel Range .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him after the American geologist Thomas W. Bastien (1933-2010), head of the helicopter-supported team of the University of Minnesota to explore the Ellsworthsgebirge between 1963 and 1964. Bastien already had that team from the university who worked there between 1961 and 1962.
