Batié is both a municipality ( French commune rurale ) and a department encompassing the same area in the West African state of Burkina Faso in the Sud-Ouest region and the Noumbiel province . The community has 31,968 inhabitants. The town of Batié, which belongs to the municipality, is the capital of the province of Noumbiel.
