Treehouse (Wismar)
The tree house is a listed building in the Hanseatic city of Wismar in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania .
The city erected the building in the first half of the 18th century in the Baroque style . At night or in the event of imminent danger, employees of the port administration, so-called Bohmschlueters , pulled a chain into the port entrance. At the same time, they also operated the barrier at the port entrance. In other cities, such as Hamburg , a floating log was placed in the driveway from the tree house there . The two Swedish heads in front of the main entrance are a symbol of the city. However, these are replicas of the originals that once stood on Duckdalben in the Wismar Bay .
The building is used for exhibitions in the 21st century.
