Baurene Island (English; Bulgarian остров Баурене ostrow Baurene ) is an icy island , 1.24 km long and 0.35 km wide in southeast-northwest orientation, off the Graham coast of Graham Land on the Antarctic Peninsula . It is the middle of the Correo Islands in Bigo Bay and is located southwest of the Magnier Peninsula , 0.5 km northwest of Komuniga Island and 0.45 km southeast of Lizard Island .
British scientists mapped it in 1971. The Bulgarian Commission for Antarctic Geographical Names named it in 2015 after the town of Baurene in northwestern Bulgaria .
