The Bigo Bay , a 10 km wide and 13 km long bay on the Graham Coast of Graham Lands on the Antarctic Peninsula . It is located between Cape García and the Magnier Peninsula .
It was discovered during the Fourth French Antarctic Expedition (1903-1905) under the direction of the polar explorer Jean-Baptiste Charcot , but erroneously mapped as the southern part of Leroux Bay . Participants of the British Graham Land Expedition (1934–1937) realized that this is separated from the bay described here by the peninsula overlooked by the Magnier Peaks . Rymill named it after Mount Bigo at the head of the bay. Its namesake, in turn, is the French ship owner Robert Bigo from Calais , member of the Ligue Maritime Française and sponsor of the Fifth French Antarctic Expedition (1908-1910), which Charcot also led .
