Bautechnik ( Bautechnik - journal for the entire civil engineering sector ) is a journal for the entire civil engineering sector published by Ernst und Sohn , which has been published monthly in German since 1950. It was first published in 1923.

In 1922, the publisher Georg Ernst gave up the magazines Zentralblatt der Bauverwaltung (founded in 1881), Zeitschrift für Bauwesen (founded 1851) and Die Denkmalpflege (founded 1899) (once because of inflation, but also because of disagreements with the authorities involved, as the magazine for Bauwesen and the Zentralblatt für Bauverwaltung were official) and planned with the construction technology a magazine for the entire construction industry. It initially appeared weekly in 56 issues and also with quarterly special issues with larger treatises. The publisher's Stahlbau magazine was initially just a supplement to Bautechnik from 1928 and was only independent from 1951. From 1924 there was a magazine show in the magazine. From 1923 to 1939 August Laskus and then Erich Lohmeyer were the editors.

After the interruption caused by the Second World War, Bautechnik appeared from 1947 together with the publisher's other major construction technology magazines (Stahlbau and Beton- und Stahlbetonbau ); it was not until 1950 that the magazines separated again. Robert von Halász headed the magazine until 1985, when it was handed over to Gebhard Hees . Doris Greiner-Mai was editor -in- chief from January 1992 to August 2010, followed by Dirk Jesse. In 2019, the construction technology appears in the 96th year.

The construction technology has been listed in the Journal Citation Report by Clarivate Analytics (formerly Thomson Reuters) since June 4, 2008 ; the impact factor for 2019 is 0.282.
