Allenstown is a place in Merrimack County , New Hampshire in the United States .
history
The name of the place comes from the governor Samuel Allen from the 17th century. The place was founded in 1721, but was not officially registered until 1831. In addition, Allenstown had to cede parts of the village area to the neighboring communities of Bow and Hoohsett .
Bear Brook State Park
The "Bear Brook State Park " is one of the largest protected parks in New Hampshire with an area of 40 km². It was named after the 16.1 km long flowing water and offers a nature center and two museums as well as various leisure areas for visitors.
