After attending primary and secondary school and the polytechnic course, Beate Fasching completed an apprenticeship as an office clerk , which she graduated with distinction. At the age of five she started tobogganing on natural tracks and from 1997 she took part in international junior championships. At the first Junior World Championships in 1997 in Aosta , she achieved eighth place and at the Junior European Championships in 1998 in Feld am See, eleventh place. In the winter of 1998/99 she made the leap into the Austrian World Cup team. In her first World Cup race on December 5th, 1998 in Sölden , she finished second, 1.64 seconds behind her teammate Elvira Holzknecht, and celebrated her greatest success. For the rest of the season she achieved fourth place in Bad Goisern and another three top 10 results, which brought her to eighth place in the overall World Cup for the 1998/1999 season , just one point behind Russian Ekaterina Lavrentjewa and four points behind sixth Sandra Mariner from Tyrol. At the Junior World Championships in 1999 in Hüttau , Fasching was fifth, 3.25 seconds behind the winner, Lavrentjewa. It was also used at the 1999 European Championships in Szczyrk, Poland , but only achieved tenth place out of 13 tobogganers, 7.5 seconds behind the winner, Sonja Steinacher from Italy. After the winter of 1998/99, Fasching ended her active career at the age of only 17. On August 28, 2010, she was awarded the Association Medal of Honor in silver from the Lower Austrian Toboggan Association for her sporting success.
