Taiarapu-Ouest is a municipality on Tahiti Iti , the eastern and smaller peninsula of the island of Tahiti in French Polynesia . It consists of the communes ( Communes associées )

  • Teahupoo with 1322 inhabitants (as of 2007),
  • Toahotu with 3122 inhabitants,
  • Vairao with 2558 inhabitants.

Teahupoo was previously an independent community and is known for the windsurfing area there.
